Now includes integrated cloud management.

Version 2.x of the PIKA μFirewall offers the same core functionality as version 1 but has added the capability of remote cloud management. PIKA μFirewall is a zero configuration voip firewall and threat management system that provides effective and affordable VoIP security to small- and medium-sized businesses.

The Pika μFirewall VoIP Firewall identifies and prevents the most common fraudulent activities on VoIP networks before they happen and achieves this by:

  • Quietly dropping malicious SIP packets rather than responding with an error to help prevent continued attacks
  • Preventing SIP denial-of-service attacks
  • Neutralising SIP attacks while they are occurring rather than identifying attacks after the fact

The μFirewall analyses SIP packets through deep packet inspection and prevents abnormal SIP protocol usage based on pre-determined parameters. The device requires zero special kills, zero configuration and zero ongoing maintenance. The device ensures excellent performance through a highly optimized network processor to process packets at close to wire speed. Device maintenance is provided by the ability to automatically install new updates when available.

The μFirewall operates at Layer 2 so the device is transparent to the underlying IP infrastructure. No configuration changes are required to add the device to the existing network and it is has power supplied through a standard USB power cable (included)

An absolute MUST for every business and home office VoIP user. In today's modern telecommunications world, using VoIP trunks to connect the office telephone system to the outside world is clearly the technology of choice. VoIP offers many advantages, the greatest of these being reduced cost, something that every business is focused on in these challenging times. However, this advanced technology comes with increased risks on the security side. We've all heard the stories that make
headlines on a regular basis:

  • small company hit with $250k long distance bill
  • VoIP telephone system hacking up by 500%
  • 2,500 bogus long distance calls made in one night from
  • off-shore through XYZ Corporation's VoIP telephone system

The fact of the matter is that the improved technology of VoIP actually makes the process of hacking into business telephone systems easier, quicker and more successful.Thousands of access attempts can now be accomplished in seconds rather than hours. There are even specialized software programs developed to perform hacking commonly available to be downloaded from the internet. If this has not happened to you yet, it probably will. And, VoIP service suppliers are less and less willing to forgive these large bills. There are traditional solutions, available today, that offer protection against this form of abuse. However, they are very expensive and require extensive time and expertise to install, configure and maintain, and 3) in many cases,
easily identified and bypassed by smart, experienced hackers.

PIKA'S μFirewall VoIP Firewall Features

  • identifies and stops unauthorised usage based on pre-determined parameters
  • controls hacking access through voicemail, auto attendant, DISA
  • prevents internal denial-of-service caused by heavy attack attempts
  • prevents continuous attempts by dropping malicious packets rather than returning an unsuccessful message
  • prevents attacks in progress, rather than identifying attacks that have already occurred
  • The device is easily installed at your location.
  • requires ZERO special skills, ZERO configuration and ZERO ongoing maintenance
  • easily plugs in right in front of your existing telephone system
  • powered by POE (power over Ethernet) or micro-USB power supply
  • does not require an IP address (operates at layer 2), making it invisible/stealth and virtually impossible to detect and interact with
  • small footprint
  • automatically installs new updates when available
  • uses a network processor to process packets at close to wire speed
  • It even lets you know what it's doing through a tri-color LED system:
  • Green: indicates normal operation identifying and inspecting VoIP packets
  • Yellow: indicates that attacks have been stopped in the last 24 hours
  • Red: indicates that an attack is currently being stopped
